Tomorrow night sees the start of the 2008 Suffolk Gifted and Talented Linguists project, involving 50 students from 18 different schools across Suffolk. The aim of the project is to get the best Y11 students in French, German and Spanish from the whole county together to work on raising awareness of global issues through language. Moving away from GCSE type vocabulary, the students will be stretching themselves to deal with topics more associated with A-Level language.So, tomorrow we get together to introduce the project, meet the other participants, and exchange emails and contacts. Most of the preparation will be done online through collaborative websites and instant messaging, and the end result will be in the form of a website that can be used by other students in schools across the country. It's an exciting high point of the year, and we'll keep you updated with how it's going.
